How to write each shot
Use a consistent format: number (1A, 1B…), shot size (WS, MS, CU, ECU), what's in frame and the camera move (static, pan, tilt, dolly, gimbal). Add audio notes like room tone.
Shot list vs storyboard
A storyboard shows each shot as a drawing; a shot list is the quick, practical checklist the crew works through on the day. Most shoots need the list even if they skip the storyboard.
